Tom Shepherd - Owner/Head PT

Having always been very passionate about sport, health & fitness. Working in the fitness industry seemed inevitable. Having completed a sports science degree I wanted a more personal career which allowed me to help people. I completed my Personal Trainer course at the start of 2015 , since then I have gained a lot of experience working with a lot of people with all types of injuries, limitations & fitness levels.

I love the challenge of a new client and getting them to achieve things that they didn’t believe were possible. Seeing clients become confident in themselves is what makes this job so fulfilling. I believe that education is key to healthy & sustainable lifestyle.

Abbie Sands - Senior PT

I have only worked in the industry for a short time but have loved every minute of it and am looking forward to the many years ahead. Working at Strive has given me a space where I can be myself to help others to be the best version of themselves. I chose to get into Personal training because fitness has always been apart of my life and is something I am passionate about. Being able to educate those around me on the benefits of moving your body and nourishing it with the best foods, is tantalisingly satisfying.

Sarah Mathie - Personal Trainer

I have always had a passion for health and fitness, both my own and those close to me. Becoming a personal trainer allowed me to combine this passion with my love of helping people reach their goals and become a healthier and more positive version of themselves. I started my personal training journey after being inspired and encouraged by my own trainer. Their belief in me and what I can achieve has helped me to do the same for my clients, showing me how much having someone push you and keep you accountable goes to reach your personal goals. I love a good dose of cardio along with strength training, and I like to think that a laugh and light-hearted approach helps get our clients through their session. We all have our struggles and overcoming these can be daunting, through support and having someone in your corner you will be amazed at the results you can achieve!

Amy Brooks - Personal Trainer

I have always been interested in how my body works and why it does the things it does. As I got older, I saw and felt my body changing and I wanted to know why. With my love of movement and desire to learn more about the human body, I enrolled at the Australian Institute of Fitness and completed the Master Trainer course in 2018. Since then, I have undertaken more study and completed a variety of courses. My passion is Pre and Post Natal training. Having studied a few courses so far, I have learnt the importance of movement during and after pregnancy for both mental and physical health. It’s this information that I want to share with my clients and to ensure them that it is ok to exercise during this period.

I’m a big believer in the 80/20 way. Eat healthy, nutritious food 80% of the time and enjoy treats 20% of the time, whilst moving the body everyday. Food is medicine: it gives us energy, prevents illness and fuels our body and minds. It’s just making sure we are putting the right fuel in.
